It always feels good to know you have an adorable feline waiting for you at home. No matter how long you have a cat, perhaps you have been oriented with how a feline behaves. The actions of a cat are different from other animals. Though they may have a reason for acting in a certain way, not all cat owners understand why their feline pals behave in a special way. You may find problems raising your cat if you could not understand your cat’s act. Though a cat’s actions can be puzzling at times, there are methods in which you can unlock the mysteries of popular feline acts.
You probably have noticed your cat pushing a thing (for example, TV stand, bench, sofa) or a person. Then it rubs its head against the individual or thing. This act is probably more obvious if you have somebody who owns other animals or a person who has allergies to cats. The cat does this pushing and rubbing because it is putting a touch of its spit on the object or person to identify its possession Those who do not have affinity with cats may find this action rather irritating. But for the feline, it sees the individual as someone odd and out of the ordinary so it brushes its coat against the new person to establish it as part of its territory.
The cat benefits well by marking the new person with its saliva. However, other people have allergies to animal spit while some people may have pet peeves. This kind of action will be irritating for these people and they will do their best to get rid of the spit. These people may possibly remove the saliva. But then, the cat will simply push, rub and lick the person once more if it cannot identify this individual as its property. This will quite pose as a predicament for the person with allergies or with pet peeves. If you are the owner of the cat and you can say that your guest is troubled by your cat’s behavior, then tell the guest what is happening. What you should do is to speak to the guest and request him to allow your cat to do this action. If the cat has successfully left its mark on the guest, it will finally leave the person alone.
Hunting is a basic for felines. If you notice your cat spending a lot of time by the windowpane and generating peculiar noises and doing bizarre movements, do not be troubled. Your cat is just preparing for hunt. You cat will especially be on its toes when its sees some movement outside the window or if it sees a cat. This is usual behavior for cats so do not be alarmed.
There are people who think it baffling why cats pounce at things. Cats like pouncing. Pouncing is another ordinary behavior that cats employ for play. Do not stop your cat from doing this behavior unless you want to get some mess. There might be a lot of objects broken in the house after your attempts to stop it. To handle this pouncing behavior, buy your cat some toys that it could use to pounce on. A yarn or a string may even be enough for it to play with. Your cat will surely enjoy your company as it runs after the yarn or string.
You will control your cat better if you know how to read your kitty's body language. Go beyond feeding and providing litter to your cat. Try understanding your cat a little more by comprehending its behavior.
